The context

Rappi's platform had grown faster than the architecture beneath it. Pages were slow to load, and every new feature added more weight to a system already at its limits. In five months, we rebuilt the listings platform from the ground up and cut page-load times by 55%.

The approach

We started by profiling the existing platform to understand where performance was really being lost, then rebuilt the experience around a leaner front end and a redesigned data layer. Work was delivered in tight two-week increments, so Rappi saw progress — and could steer it — from the very first sprint.

The impact

The new platform went live in five months, with page-load times cut by 55% and an experience that finally kept pace with the marketplace. Users browse more, complete flows faster, and the platform now has headroom for the features the team had been forced to postpone.
