A full checkout flow rebuilt to reduce cart abandonment down

When Rappi saw cart abandonment climbing, they needed a checkout that got out of the user's way — across millions of orders a day and dozens of markets. Parser rebuilt the full checkout flow as a managed delivery, working as one team with Rappi's product org.

The context

Rappi's checkout had accumulated years of market-specific logic, payment options, and promotions — and every addition made it slower and harder to change. Abandonment was creeping up, and conversion experiments took weeks to ship. We rebuilt the full checkout flow, cutting steps, load time, and abandonment along the way.

The approach

We mapped the checkout journey across Rappi's largest markets, identified the steps where users dropped off, and redesigned the flow around a single, streamlined path with payments and promotions handled behind the scenes. A Parser managed squad delivered the rebuild market by market, so improvements reached users continuously instead of in one risky release.

The impact

The new checkout reduced the number of steps to complete an order and made every remaining step faster — and cart abandonment came down with it. Conversion experiments that used to take weeks now ship in days.

Because the rebuild isolated market-specific logic behind clean interfaces, Rappi's own teams can now launch new payment methods and promotions without touching the core flow.

Parser embedded with our team and moved like they'd been here for years. We shipped faster than we thought possible, without ever compromising on quality.
